Having gone temporarily mad in late 2003, I purchased the Toyota Altezza RS200 "Z Edition" pictured below from Rick Armstrong here in Christchurch. The Altezza is basically a Lexus IS200, but with the grunty 4 cylinder 2.0L 3S-GE engine from the Celica. Japanvehicles.com has all the specifications if you're interested!
Six months in and approximately 5000km later the Altezza is proving to be a great buy and a definite upgrade from my trusty student car: the lean, mean & green Toyota Corolla GT.
By the way, if you need a manual for your trusty second hand Japanese import, check out the JPNZ International web site. They have translated manuals for just about every type of car imported into New Zealand and they aren't too expensive at around $50.
